Youth Opportunities Unlimited! grew out of a community assessment, wherein much concern was raised over the risk factors of substance abuse, teen pregnancy and school failure/dropout in our youth.

The City of Evanston acted to prevent these risk factors, and to invest in youth by creating the Youth Services Division, which includes Youth Opportunities Unlimited!

Research shows that positive bonding is the most effective and simple way to combat all of the risk factors youth face.

This is the emphasis and purpose of our organization!

We seek to combat these specific youth risk factors by creating bonds through a variety of activities in the after school hours. Youth Opportunities Unlimited! is open to all youth regardless of income. The staff is comprised of caring adult mentors with positive standards who strive to make the center a safe place for youth to come and participate in fun activities.
